Who is Jael Dawn?
Jael Dawn has been my gamer tag and online persona since I was a teenager—a name that's followed me through countless game worlds, communities, and late-night adventures. She's the part of me that loves exploring new realms, conquering challenges, and connecting with fellow gamers.
Now, as I launch this blog, it only feels right to bring my gaming experience to life as Jael. It’s not just a name—it’s the heart of my journey as both a passionate gamer and a protective mom navigating the world of gaming for families.
My Story
I’ve been gaming since the Atari era and some of the earliest home computer models, developing a deep love for video games at a young age. My passion for gaming really took off when I was placed in a special education class for dyslexia, where computers were integrated into learning—something that was rare at the time. After finishing my schoolwork, I had access to a stack of floppy disk games, which motivated me to work hard, efficiently, and quickly so I could enjoy gaming. From that moment on, video games became a core part of my life, and I’ve never put them down since.
Over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in large gaming communities, including helping run and manage groups with hundreds of members who played the latest games on the market. I’ve also had the opportunity to Alpha and Beta test numerous games and applications, working directly with developers to provide feedback from a gamer’s perspective. As I transitioned into parenthood, my feedback evolved, shifting toward a family-friendly lens, where I analyzed games and apps with my children in mind.
Beyond gaming communities, I have shared insights and provided reviews across various social media platforms, answering questions and helping other parents navigate the gaming world. I have also been a guest on several popular gaming streams, sharing my experiences and perspectives. Now, with my Gamer Mom blog, I am excited to create a dedicated space where I can combine my love for gaming with my experience as a parent, offering honest, informative, and engaging reviews for both kids and moms alike.
